We're expecting a baby likely to be born at the end of March, my husband and I are typically having a hard time when it comes to agreeing on names.
When I was pregnant with Charlie we had decided on his name pretty quickly, before the gender scan, but we have no idea what we're going to name this little monkey. We have names picked out which I really like but my partners not too keen on any of them. My partner loves the name Alfie and Harry but I'm not overly keen on them he suggested these names when I was pregnant with Charlie and hasn't budged since we knew we was expecting a boy. If we can't agree on a name then it's probably going to end up being one of those, but I don't want to just agree on a name because we can't find one that we both like.
Some of the names that I like are Louie, Oliver, Noah, Brodie, Dougie Jonah and Archie
but none of them have really appealed to us.
I consider a lot of things when picking a baby name, I don't want anything to extraordinary but something that fits our family and the baby's last name, we've spent hours searching through A-Z baby name books and online at stupid o clock and none of the names have appealed to us. Choosing a name is such a difficult task and can be so overwhelming especially when you can't agree on names.
I've always loved the names Louie and Noah. I've always been fond on them but my partner isn't overly keen on either of them. I like the idea of shortening Oliver to Ollie and I really like Jonah and Brody but I feel they don't fit well and it isn't really us.
A lot of people say wait until your baby is born and a name will come to mind when Charlie was born we instantly new he was a Charlie, I'm hoping that before little man arrives we can agree on a name that we actually love, I've got my heart set on Noah since I've loved it for so long but although my partners starting to come around to the idea he doesn't like the fact the name has become quite popular though we don't personally know a lot of Noah's it's a name you know and hear of a lot, but he's got his heart set on Alfie or Harry but I really don't like these suggestions and he hasn't actually suggested any other names. I'm quite fond of Louie too but the more I say it the more I feel it doesn't fit with Charlie.
Charlie's been calling Bump Noah and always refers to him as 'Noie' so hopefully my husband comes around to the idea because I'd hate to call him something that we're not overly keen on.
A lot of people choose their baby's names based on the meaning of names for example the name Aaron is known to be 'strength' while others go for names in the family or of late family members. I love he idea of naming your child after family members because it has so much meaning but I prefer using them as Middle names, Charlie's middle names are Charlie 'Joe Douglas' which is my grandad and my partners grandad they were special people in our lives and when we finally agree on little mans name we plan on his middle name being 'George' after my partners grandad. I'm hoping my husband comes around to the name Noah because that's the name I feel is perfect but until then we'll just refer to him as bump.
I'd love to hear your baby's names? And how you chose them!
